Worship Services & About Us
Our Church Our Sawtell Church is a quite small but active Congregation which is drawn from the village of Sawtell, Toormina, and Boambee East, as well as the three Boambee valleys and Bonville; all to the south of Coffs Harbour and north of Urunga / Bellingen.
The congregation meets together, and centres our activities, in the multi-purpose building at 24-26 Elizabeth Street, Sawtell. We are again a fully lay led congregation.
Services and Activities - Everyone is welcome to join us for worship and fellowship, whether a local resident, new to the area, on a holiday or a business visitor!
- Worship Services, normally 9.00am weekly; with special Services at Easter and Christmas, and occasionally at other times.
- Communion, within our morning service - is generally held on Fourth Sunday of the month
Visiting or New?
Are you new to the Sawtell-Bonville area, or even the wider Coffs Coast region? Just visiting, whether the first time or are you a regular to our beautiful and friendly area?
Church visits We welcome all to our services or activities. In fact some of us have either moved in to the district in the last few years, and were visitors before that. We may have an insight into how you might find us.
If you come – Our Sunday services are fairly informal, and varied, with 'come as you are' dress code and sit anywhere you like in the seats as set-out, or grab one from the stacks. We sing lots of hymns and modern songs too - certainly join in if you wish! Make yourself known on arrival, or quietly take your place. Stay for a cuppa and chat if you wish.
Our Safe plan has measures in place to assist the reduction of health risks, like available hand sanitiser, low contact communion, good air flow, and allows distancing (masks available) - but your welcome will be as warm and the message of God just as strong.
There often will be a short message or reflection based on the bible and the Uniting Church calendar, the reading of bible verses appropriate for the message, and prayers for people and events. An offering basket is available to fund the church’s mission but do not feel obliged to contribute.
When we have holy communion, or sharing bread and grape juice with each other we do it in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice in dying for us. Do not feel you must participate if it doesn’t feel right for you.
Use a Hearing Aid? If you have a setting for it on your aid, you can use our hearing Loop to have a better worship experience.

Are you just checking on what is on this month? Go to This Month or look for the latest on our notice boards in Elizabeth Street.
Formerly known as St Paul’s Presbyterian, for the past 45+ years (since Union of a number of denominations in 1977) it has been part of the Uniting Church of Australia family in NSW/ACT.
More About Us This our latest building, which replaced an A Frame church on the site, had a first service held in it on 5 April, 1998. The 1967 A-Frame church building (below pic) was demolished, and the small church hall was relocated as a community hall in Red Rock.
We have been a lay-led congregation for most of the past decade, with a number of gifted people giving of themselves in God’s service to our gatherings.

When we have holy communion, or sharing bread and grape juice with each other we do it in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice in dying for us.
