Stretch & Stability Exercise
Welcome to Stretch and Stability (SaS)
Fitness Stretch & Stability Classes - Monday to Friday mornings, at 8:30 am, plus extra classes at 7:30 am on Monday and Friday. Note that the Tuesday group only runs for 3 weeks bi-monthly due to trainers' prior commitments!
(Contact this group's facilitator, Maureen Darby for more details or to express interest - you can use our Contact Us page to email us (or if urgent: email Maureen Darby directly for groups & UUFIT).
Note: NOT held on Public Holidays or for 2-3 weeks over the main Christmas and New Year period.
In 2026 - All groups are currently very popular. Vacancies occur during term, but are not guaranteed. Contact if interested. A familiarisation visit may be possible.
Strictly limited to 30 public enrollees in each group due to the space needed for activities to be considered a safer environment with numbers and for the best experience and outcomes for all. We are very pleased this activity is so loved and useful to our community members BUT restrictions may be applied on the day if numbers exceed 30.
This is a Church service to the community, at a small cost to you, but led by contracted, trained Exercise Physiologists from Hoys Allied Health and Wellness. A $6 fee per daily session helps to cover the professional assistance. Make your payment when you check in at the billiards table on arrival.
Payment can be made by cash or electronically. To simplify payment, cards for 5 or 10 classes ($30 or $60) can be bought, and a box on the card is initialled each time you attend a class. Our EFTPOS facility allows payment by tapping your card, phone or watch.
Never let $$ stand in the way of you joining us in your fitness journey - talk to us.
Note: We are also introducing an $8 charge for ‘1.8m ‘therabands, i.e., the coloured bands used. Of course, we will always have a few available for loan if you forget yours, but these need to be returned after your exercise session. These are also purchasable by you from stores, e.g., Kmart.
- Who can come? These are part of our Church UUFIT Program adopted in 2015 [and continuing within our 2023 >> ongoing .. SUC Mission plan]: "We aim to unite ourselves and others in our community through friendship, fitness, fun, interests, information, insight - for physical, spiritual, and mental health". This congregation of the Uniting Church at Sawtell has always believed we are a part of the local community and they are a part of us. We use the acronym name UUFIT to cover all of the ongoing programs we see as doing our part to build up our community. We freely subsidise each program to keep the cost to you at a minimum for participants. UUFIT stands for Uniting U (you with) Friendship, I (Inspiration), T (Training) - We run a number of programs under this banner.
